  2. Inventory- talk through equipment make sure nothing is missing

  3. Use of toilet and pump out, shower and water system

  4. Turning gas on and safety when using cooker & hob, show guests gas bottle location, isolation valves and how to change gas bottles

  5. Safety life jackets location if pre booked

  6. Water safety/hazards of falling in, passengers should not travel on roof or gunwales, take engine out of gear when passengers jumping on or off, stay in front of tiller at all times, if anyone falls overboard put engine in neutral, throw buoyancy aids if appropriate and retrieve them from the tow path

  7. Safety equipment- show buoyancy aid location, fire extinguishers, fire blanket, NO SMOKING inside boat, in case of emergency get boat to side of canal and everyone off the boat, do not have flammable materials near cooker & hob and never leave unattended

  4. Start stop engine instructions and pre heat, drive positions forward/reverse/neutral

  5. Demonstrate boat moving out of marina and how tiller works and how to keep in front of tiller and use of throttle

  6. Steering & speed- once out of the marina explain how to stay on the right hand side of canal, again explain speed at TICK OVER passing moored craft and show how to use locks if required

  7. Demonstrate how to turn the boat at any turning points

  8.
